Control That Sets You Free

Today’s world has much to offer at the cost of peace, joy and love. Worries are in abundance and nothing ever seems to be sufficient. Everything is insufficient. Well, Almost everything.

We have control on several factors. Control, when exercised well, gives us authority over matter. Control makes us powerful than our surroundings and situations. Control saves.

Saving and controlling go together alongside the journey of life. You control the urge to spend money and you save. When you are in trouble, your unspent money in turn saves you. You control food habits and you save youth and longevity. You control your words and they in turn save your relationships. The last line makes me ponder,, whether it is just the spoken words that are ruining relationships in present times and a control over spoken word can correct things… Or is there something more to it…?

Well, the spoken word has had its importance of making or breaking relationships, but in the present times, spoken words have limited power to change status of relationships, as they are seldom heard.

Differences of opinions are a factor, spoken words have been a big factor in the past and do hold some significance today also, however, the reason behind increasing distances within single household is not just limited to these; these factors play a small role. The major role is played by a constant wish to possess more, to look more forward (that’s what they call it, though it is actually about looking modern), and prove our superiority to our own people in the society.

I have been an extremely competitive person throughout my life and I encourage every productive competition that I come across. However, productive competitions don’t create differences between dear ones; unproductive ones do.

To ensure your child learns and tops exams is a productive competition, to improve yourself in any field and thus produce better goods is productive as well and so are all the activities that utilize time and churn out useful outcomes in the form of goods, services or implementable concepts.

Time is something we note at regular intervals, but we never note how much we’ve spent on unproductive activities. A family member who spends more time on gaining likes on social media is borrowing time from his /her family time reserve. Time well spent in each other’s company brings people together. This time reserve, when emptied, empties feelings, emotions and eventually leads to separations in families.

Time is very, very powerful. Using it to gain joy, knowledge and peace makes one live like a king. Spending it endlessly after gaining praises without putting efforts into any trade brings shortlived joy and long term discontent.

Families can be saved, Relationships can be strengthened if time is managed well. Time, after all, is a non renewable resource, isn’t it?
